Themes

NESTS: As a textile, a nest is an exquisite, intricate, intentioned weaving made from a collection of found materials. It is a vessel, a shelter, and a home. For me, a nest is a metaphor for the primal female impulse to nurture.
SHELLS: Bivalves and mollusks provide all manner of inspiration to me in shape, shadow, texture, and their symbiotic cohabitation.
ARCHEOLOGY: An expression of my personal story through visual layers of time, using shards, amphoras and fabric remnants as icons.
THE HUMAN FOOTPRINT: footprints in mud and sand, electrical wires, industry, trash, and things wrapped in plastic.
